I’m an award-winning Washington, DC freelance photographer with a primary focus on food photography and portraits. I’m also a web designer, foodie, tech lover & a self-described nerd. I’ve had a camera in my hand most of my life, ironically though, I’m just beginning to take my photography seriously. I am the consummate visual story teller and have begun to travel and live with more of a photogenic purpose.
I studied design at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and received my masters in Interactive Media from American University.
My passion for photography is fueled by the design I see in everyday things. I have spent 15+ years as a professional web designer. I grew technically but my desire and passion to be fully creative took a backseat to the “functional” requirements of responsive web–I was taught “function over beauty” by one of my mentors.
I’m grateful for the opportunities to work on many award-winning websites and will continue to do so, except now with my heightened photographic eye.
I understand how to communicate visually to capture individual personalities, sentiments and emotions. My experiences give insight into the development of strong visuals to complete photographic and website assignments of all kinds.
